Field Trip to North Carolina [2002]
Students for Earth History (GEO 112), Petrology (GEO 212) and Sedimentation and Stratigraphy (GEO 312) attended a departmental field trip to North Carolina on April 10-14, 2002. Benjamin Edwards, Peter Riemersma, Patricia Videtich and I were the faculty on board.. For pictures of the geology and our students on this field trip click here.
Field Trip to Lake Michigan Dunes
Ed Hansen (Professor of Geology at Hope College, Holland, MI, and five faculty members from GVSU Geology [Patricia Videtich, Greg Wilson, Peter Riemersma, Steve Mattox and me] attended a field trip to the dunes along the eastern Lake Michigan coastline. Dr. Hansen informed us about paleosols, dune migration and cross-stratification in these dunes. To see pictures click here.
